If you suffer from an allergy and would like to seek professional advice and treatment, contact your GP or book an appointment at a private allergy clinic.  There are numerous clinics located throughout the UK and they often offer both private and NHS treatment. Allergies diagnosed at allergy clinics include food allergies such as milk allergy, seafood allergy and peanut allergy as well as hay fever, latex allergies and dust mite allergies. Most clinics also check for food intolerance. Allergy testing includes: skin prick tests, Intradermal testing, patch testing, scratch tests, RAST tests, WBC differentiation, blood tests and food intolerance testing.

If you suspect that you have an allergy, look out for the following signs:

• Sneezing or a runny nose
• Watery, itchy eyes
• Skin rashes, eczema, dermatitis or urticaria
• Swelling of the lips and tongue
• Wheezing or shortness of breath
• Anaphylaxis
• Other signs include; coughing, diarrhoea, sickness, vomiting and an itchy, sore throat.
