Otoplasty is usually used on children under that age of fourteen.  As such it is rare that it is used in conjunction with other facial surgery.  At this age the child hasn’t totally developed, and some cosmetic surgeries would be harmful to their development.  It would be too much of a risk to conduct other surgery until the child is fully grown. 

In adults Otoplasty can be used in conjunction with other cosmetic surgeries, for example face lifts.  It is a relatively simple procedure and can be done at the same time as other treatments if desired.  Often, however, ear correction is all that is wanted or needed.
