Scarring from Inverted Nipple Correction Surgery

Inverted Nipple Correction Surgery leaves you with very minor scarring. The incisions made to life and excise the nipple are very small and at the base of the nipple so any scarring that does occur is hidden, somewhat, by where the nipple joins the areola. Only if you are unlucky and suffer from post-operative infection, may you get significant visible scarring.

Despite the level of visible scarring being very low, the surgery does carry a risk of scarring of the milk ducts. This is more common when correcting grade 3 inverted nipples if the milk ducts had to be cut to release the nipple. This scarring can be to the extent that breastfeeding is no longer possible.
