Septoplasty Procedure

Rhinoplasty ("Nose Job") Clinics in London & UK »

The surgical procedure for septoplasty is similar to rhinoplasty in that it is performed under general anaesthetic and can take up to 90 minutes to complete. An incision is made in the lining of the nasal septum through the nostrils to reach the cartilage wall. The surgeon will usually then remove some of the bone or cartilage tissue which is causing obstruction and difficulty within the nose.  After the procedure the surgeon will seal up the incisions with stitches and a split will be fixed to the outside of the nose to support the new nasal structure. Whilst septoplasty just focuses on the inside of the nose, septorhinoplasty operates both internally and externally to treat the nose, improving both its function and appearance.
