Cialis & Grapefruit Juice

Like Viagra, Cialis is also affected when taken with grapefruit juice. The enzymes within the grapefruit juice can delay the effects of the drug and increase the chances of having side effects such as the ones listed below;

  • Headaches
  • Nausea
  • Drowsiness
  • Dizziness
  • Stomach Pains and Diarrhoea

The juice can also decrease the levels of some of the intestinal enzymes that break down drugs such as Cialis before they are absorbed into the blood stream. As the grapefruit juice decreases these enzymes the drug is not broken down properly and so when it finally reaches the blood stream this could potentially cause an over dose. An overdose of any drug is always extremely dangerous and at times it could lead to a fatality. It could also lead to heart problems, brain damage and strokes.

If you do choose to drink grapefruit juice then you must seek immediate medical assistance if you do see any of the side effects begin to occur.

Taking your Cialis tablet with grapefruit juice could also potentially reduce the effects of the drug and it could even cause stop you being able to have an erection. Using any part of the grapefruit could lead to this including the peel, and if you want to continue eating food and drink that contain grapefruit then it is advised that you should go back to your GP and see alternative medication for your erectile dysfunction symptoms.
