Thrush in Men

Thrush in men is also a common infection, and the symptoms are sometimes similar to those experienced in women. Again, the severity of which you might experience these symptoms will vary from person to person, and many men do not suffer from any symptoms at all. The symptoms of thrush in the penis include:

  • Sore or red skin around the head of the penis
  • Pain experienced during sexual intercourse
  • Swelling or discomfort
  • Slight or severe irritation around the head of the penis
  • Thick, abnormal discharge
  • The development of an unpleasant odour
  • Itchiness
  • Pain when urinating

Any of these symptoms may be quite worrying if it is the first time you have experienced them. There is little need to panic however, and if you are diagnosed with thrush, the infection should be simple and easy to cure. It is important that you visit your doctor at the first sign of any of these symptoms though, as these are all also common symptoms of several sexually transmitted diseases.
