Cost of IPL Tattoo Removal

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) tattoo removal is one of the more expensive tattoo removal treatments. As with most of these kinds of procedures, the cost will depend entirely on both how big the tattoo is and type of the unwanted tattoo. IPL tattoo removal is expensive because you are paying for each individual pulse of light, and so the more pulses of light required, the more expensive the treatment will be. Currently, treatment costs upwards of £60 per session, and so the final bill can run to thousands of pounds. This makes this treatment out of most people's price range. Certain colours are easier to remove than others, such as black, blue and red, and so tattoos containing these colours will be cheaper to remove. Greens and yellows are much harder to remove, and so will work out to be more expensive, and purple and orange pigments lie in the middle but are still tricky to get rid of. There are certain skin types which respond better to IPL treatment than others, and so this will also be a factor to consider when looking into the cost of the procedure. Generally, tattoos are harder to remove from people with darker complexions, specifically those of African descent, as well as Greek and Italian natives and anyone who is deeply tanned.

This method is generally considered to be more effective than laser treatments and will require fewer sessions for removal. The risk of scarring and other side effects are also lower with IPL tattoo removal, and so the benefits of the procedure can often outweigh the drawbacks of the high costs involved. However, it is worth bearing in mind that results can take up to 12 months to become fully apparent.
