Dependency on Viagra

As more and more men are prescribed Viagra to treat their erectile problems more people are therefore becoming dependant and at times even addicted to the drug. This tends to happen when you have used Viagra for a long period of time and you feel unable to have a healthy sex life without it.

It is also possible to become dependent on Viagra when you have not been prescribed it and are just using it for recreational use. Viagra is not physically addictive however it is the psychological addiction which can be hard for many men to overcome.

Warning Signs of Dependency

Below are some of the signs which may indicate you having a dependency on Viagra;

  • Using the drug more often and it becoming part of your day to day routine
  • Missing work or social events due to the effects of Viagra for example extreme fatigue
  • Having Viagra start to affect your relationship, both sexually and emotionally
  • Continuing to use Viagra even if you have extreme side effects
  • Using Viagra daily which can then cause you to become tolerant of the drug and you having to use stronger dosages to see any effect
  • Buying Viagra when you cannot afford it or getting into debt because of it

Once you acknowledge that you may have a problem with Viagra it is extremely important to seek help from your GP so they can ensure that you are not damaging your health because of the dependency. It is important that you seek help for this problem as it could increase the unwanted side effects of Viagra and it could also end with creating more erectile problems rather than solving them.
