Viagra & Drinking Alcohol

Alcohol can often negatively affect you whilst taking medication and Viagra is no exception to this. There have been numerous studies and research on the effects of alcohol and Viagra together and all the results have concluded that it is not a good idea to consume the two together.

There are many reasons for this, the first being that alcohol increases the risks of suffering from the side effects which Viagra could potentially cause. Another reason why mixing Viagra and alcohol could be potentially harmful to your body is that alcohol thins your blood and as it is advised by medical experts not to take Viagra whilst taking blood thinning medication it makes sense that this advice should also be followed with alcohol.

Effects of Alcohol and Viagra

It has already been proven by numerous studies that alcohol has a negative effect on natural erections and also that consuming large amounts of alcohol is a common cause of erectile dysfunction. So if you are taking Viagra to try and solve your erectile problems then drinking alcohol could affect the results of the medication and as a result make erections harder to have and then maintain.

Another fact to consider about mixing both Viagra and alcohol together is that some of the main side effects of both of these things such as headaches, dizziness and stomach upset are the same and so by taking both together could potentially cause the side effects to be twice as bad.

It is also important to remember that when alcohol is consumed over the recommend daily allowance it can have a negative effect on your health both physically and psychologically. And so as Viagra is only a temporary treatment for erectile dysfunction it is important to have a healthy lifestyle whilst on the medication to increase the chances of you being able to have a healthy sex life after you have stopped taking Viagra.
