The procedure itself won’t hurt you. You will be placed under some form of anaesthetic so that you won’t feel any of the surgery. Afterwards you are likely to experience some soreness around your ears, but nothing that shouldn’t be able to be eased with over the counter painkillers. The discomfort will ease after a few days, and within a week you ought to be able to stop taking any painkillers at all.
