Primary Sleep Disorder

A Primary Sleep Disorder is one that is intrinsic to sleep and is the root cause of a disturbed nights sleep. Insomnia is an example of this. It is often difficult to distinguish between a primary and a secondary sleep disorder as many factors that are created through sleeping disorders can also be the cause of sleeping disorders. Therefore, it is important that you monitor you sleep patterns thoroughly so your sleeping disorder can be diagnosed as being either primary or secondary.
