If you are looking at ways to increase your breast size but you are not keen on the idea of surgery then you might want to consider trying one of the many different types of breast enlargement pills currently available on the market. However, it is important that you are aware of the controversy surrounding the effectiveness of these pills as well as possible side effects that you might experience.

There are a number of different types of breast enlargement pills on the market but most of them utilise the fact that your breasts naturally change size throughout your monthly cycle and mimic the hormones that are found within your body when your breasts are at their largest in order to cause the enlargement effect. The pills often contain a chemical that is similar to the hormone oestrogen which (when taken) is thought to stimulate your breast tissue to grow (thus increasing your breast size). This is a similar mechanism that occurs naturally during puberty when your body produces an increased amount of oestrogen to cause initial breast growth.

Do Breast Enlargement Pills Actually Work?

There have been numerous studies looking into the effectiveness of breast enlargement pills. However the results tend to be very mixed due to the fact that these pills often have different effects on different people. This is because you will have a different diet, body make up and lifestyle to anyone else who has taken the pills so you will potentially react to them differently. Your individual body chemistry will alter the way in which you process the chemicals that are found within the breast enlargement pills (including the oestrogen-like chemical that is thought to cause breast enlargement).

Unfortunately, most of the trials that have been done on the effectiveness of breast enlargement pills have been carried out by the companies that produce the pills so they are potentially highly biased. In addition, there is a large amount of hearsay and “word of mouth” type evidence available on the internet where individuals claim either that breast enlargement pills are the best things since sliced bread or that they did not work at all and simply cost them a lot of money. Some of the arguments against these negative claims include the fact that some women’s digestive systems may compromise the sensitive ingredients of the breast enlargement pills. This argument suggests that these pills will not work for everybody so you may need to try a number of different breast enlargement pill types before you found one that worked for you.

Potential Side Effects and Long Term Health Effects of Taking Breast Enlargement Pills

Common side effects of taking breast enlargement pills can include headaches, stomach cramps, diarrhoea, vomiting and nausea. In rare cases you might have an allergic reaction to one of the ingredients in the breast enlargement pill. If you experience any swelling around your mouth or a feeling of a tightening of the airway then you should stop taking the pills and consult your doctor immediately. If you reaction is very severe then you might even have to head straight into the emergency department of your local hospital.

However, there is minimal evidence to suggest that breast enlargement pills will have an effect on your menstruation, fertility or interfere with your current methods of contraception (including the oral contraception pill). However, if you have any concerns or if your periods change when you start taking breast enlargement pills then you should consult your GP as soon as possible.

Potential long term side effects could be caused by the oestrogen-like chemicals that are contained in many breast enlargement pills. This is because oestrogen acts to stimulate the tissues within your uterus to grow (as well as your breast tissue) and could therefore potentially increase your risk of developing uterine cancer. However, the ability of different breast enlargement pills to stimulate your uterine tissues have not been proven so the exact increased risk of uterine cancer for any given breast enlargement pill cannot be precisely stated.
