Liposuction Surgeons

Find Liposuction Clinics in London & UK »

As with all cosmetic surgery it is very important to check the credentials and qualifications of your surgeon before you have your liposuction.  This might seem like a daunting task, but there are organisations designed to help you.  Your GP is likely to have information on the clinics and surgeons within your area, and may be your first port of call when looking for a surgeon.  Failing this, the GMC, (General Medical Council), gives free information on the qualifications held by particular surgeons.

Within the UK surgeons need to be a member of the FRCS, (Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons), to undertake any form of surgery, but to conduct forms of cosmetic surgery they need to have FRCS (plast) after their names.  This means that they have trained within cosmetic surgery and are qualified to practise it.  BAPRAS, (British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons), is a more prestigious organisation that only allows membership after passing rigorous exams.

The different types of liposuction mean that it would be best for your surgeon to have experience in the particular area of liposuction that you choose to have.
