Hydration During Exercise
Drinking during exercise is very important. During sports it is vital that you rehydrate yourself frequently as your body is likely to be losing a lot of water through sweat. In most cases, replenishing yourself with water every 15 minutes or so is fine, but if you are going to be exercising for more than 90 minutes you will need to replenish lost carbohydrates with some form of energy drink in order to maintain your performance. This is particularly important for example if you are running a marathon since you may not realise the extent of fluid your body is losing and you will need to ensure you are providing it with enough energy and hydration to function at its optimum.
