The Sleep Disorder Clinic use testing procedures that are completed at the patient’s home. They send their sleep study equipment to a patient’s home or work address with complete, easy to follow instructions. Once completed a courier will conveniently collect it from an address of their choice. Within 24 hours, the results are ready and consultations can take place either over the phone or face to face dependent on the patient’s needs.

Joseph Gannon

Joseph has been in the field of Sleep Medicine for more than 10 years. He began his career in sleep research, looking at how pharmacological agents impact upon sleep architecture. One of the most exciting parts of research he worked on was the PHASE I clinical trials, testing new drugs in man for the first time at Hammersmith Medicines Research.

After gaining invaluable experience at Hammersmith Medicines Research, Joseph moved on to The Sleep Disorders Centre (Adult service) at Guys and St Thomas’ Hospital. Here Joseph was an integral member of the team, helping to ward an expansion in the service. The majority of his time was spent focused on the identification and management of sleep disordered breathing and neurological sleep problems, such as REM Behaviour Disorders and Narcolepsy.

Joseph then decided to move into the growing field of Paediatric sleep at the prestigious Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children. Here Joseph took on a senior post in the department, leading in the identification and management of a broad range of respiratory and craniofacial problems impacting upon sleep.

Joseph also lectures to students in the University Hospital of South Manchester. Students consist of under graduate and post graduates as part of the NHS’ movement towards Modernising Scientific Careers. His lecturing covers a full spectrum of both adult and paediatric sleep disorders.
