BHSF Cancer Cover
BHSF health insurers offer a comprehensive cancer cover policy called Plan4Life. The company has been established since 1873 in Birmingham. When it comes to cancer cover, many health insurance policies do not offer cover, but with BHSF, they provide an affordable policy just for cancer care. There are over 200 kinds of cancer, all with different treatments, symptoms and causes. Estimates believe that one in three of us will be diagnosed with cancer at some point in our lives. Fortunately 50% of those diagnosed with cancer survive for at least five years afterwards. A cancer diagnosis can mean having time off work, which can mean financial strain for you and your family. Taking out a cancer care insurance policy can give you the peace of mind needed when it comes to looking after your family finances.
What does the Plan4Life cancer policy offer?
- If you are between 18 and 34 you can get level 1 cover for less than £5 a month
- Policies are age banded and get higher as you get older
- Your medical history is not examined
- There are five plans you can chose from
- The policy stops on members 75th birthday
- Plan4Life covers cancer, brain tumours and meningitis
- You will receive half the stated amount if you are a smoker
If you need to claim your one off payment it can be used for whatever you choose, from monthly bills, travelling, and medicines not available to you on the NHS, the choice is entirely yours. There is also an advice and support service with expert GP’s who can give you advice and reassure you if you have any concerns. There is also a counseling service provided for long-term support for your whole family.
There are six age bands and four levels to choose from. Each level increases in price, as does each age band. Payment is taken by direct debit every month and a one off payment is based on your age and the type of cancer you have.
