Board-Certified
Find Cosmetic Surgery Clinics »
A Board-Certified surgeon has taken and passed specific medical examinations and is registered as a qualified professional. Whatever cosmetic surgical procedure you are considering, it is essential that you choose a Board-Certified surgeon to carry out your surgery. This means that they have not only passed examinations but are also competent practicing surgeons. You should be able to find out whether your potential surgeon is Board-Certified by consulting the Register of Plastic Surgery; all UK trained and certified surgeons should be listed on their records.
It is worth checking in conjunction if your potential surgeon belongs to any other officially recognised bodies, such as BAAPS, BACS or BAPRAS. You shouldn’t feel uncomfortable asking to see your surgeon’s accreditation. Your surgeon should be able to provide evidence of qualifications and credentials.
