Can chin implants be replaced/removed?
Find Cosmetic Surgery Clinics »
Chin implants can generally be removed quite easily, however the different materials that can be used for an implant can affect the ease of the removal and the end result. Silicone or other similar implants are the easiest to extract, other materials may require a general anesthetic. The problem isn’t really taking the implant out, it is making sure that the skin isn’t dimpled or distorted. This can be a serious problem, and due to this sometimes the implant can’t merely be taken out but might need to be replaced by another implant, be it smaller or of a different material. It is important that the space left behind isn’t damaged, but normally all that happens is that the chin returns to how it looked before the operation.
