How bad will the scarring be from a labiaplasty?
Find Cosmetic Surgery Clinics »
The scarring will appear quite bad at first, as the incisions heal. Over time, as they close, the scars will appear smaller, and will certainly be less visible. Your surgeon will talk you through the scarring that you can expect from having a labiaplasty, and they will use all of their skill to ensure that the scars are as hidden as possible, shaping the incisions around the natural contours of your labia and vulva. Sometimes women experience further complications other than just visual dissatisfaction from the scars left by a labiaplasty. In rare instances the scarring can feel tight, and might lead to pain during intercourse. This might require additional surgery to correct.
