How bad are the scars after a Tummy Tuck?
Find Cosmetic Surgery Clinics »
This very much depends on how much surgery you are having done. The scarring can be kept as minimal as possible but generally they are from hip-bone to hip-bone along your groin and around your naval. The scarring is permanent, the incisions being necessary to perform the surgery, but can be kept very discreet. Your surgeon will try hard to make them as small and as unnoticeable as possible. They are normally kept under where a normal swimming costume would cover, so it is possibly to hide them even when swimming. An extensive tummy tuck will have worse scars, and they will be in other places, not just the groin or naval areas. Sometimes scars can be seen on the back or thighs from tummy tuck surgery, but this is only for more serious and major surgery.
