A vaginoplasty is a relatively straightforward surgery, and is becoming more and more popular among women in the UK.  There are some risks involved, as there are with any form of surgery, but overall the procedure is considered safe.  Surgeons report a 1-3% incidence rate overall, which makes the surgery incredibly risk free in comparison to other forms of corrective surgery.  There are risks, however, and it is important that you are made aware of these.  Infection, blood clots, irregular shape of the vagina and over-tightening are some of the issues that you need to concern yourself about.  Your surgeon will talk you through any concerns that you have, and will give you advice on how to lessen these risks, for example through preparation for the surgery and on hygiene afterwards.
