How soon after having a vaginoplasty can I start having intercourse?

It is recommended that you wait for at least 6 weeks after having vaginoplasty surgery before you start having sex again. This is because the healing tissues within the vagina remain weak for a while after surgery while they are repairing themselves. Any intercourse, or indeed anything placed into the vagina such as a tampon, could increase the healing time, and might re-open the wound. Your surgeon will examine your wound around 6 weeks after the surgery and will inform you as to whether or not you can resume with intercourse.
