Cost Of Private 3D And 4D Baby Scans
When is the best time to have a private 3D or 4D scan?
If you wish to have a 3D or 4D baby scan, it’s usually advisable to book your private baby scan between 26 and 32 weeks; at this stage, you’ll get a clearer idea of what your baby looks like and it will be more active than in the earlier phases. If you are expecting multiple babies, it may be best to book your private 4D scan slightly earlier, ideally between 20 and 26 weeks.
The cost of private 3D and 4D baby scans vary, but typically, you should expect to pay £100-£200; you may also pay more if you want additional copies of photographs or DVDs.
The choice to book a 3D or 4D scan is purely down to the individual; some people are happy with 2D scans, while others are desperate to see as much of their baby as possible. For some people, paying extra is worth it, while for others, the 2D images are sufficient until their baby arrives.

Different clinics offer various packages, but you will be able to buy and keep still images, USB sticks, which contain images and DVDs and videos, which show the movement of the baby. The prices vary and some clinics include the additional items as part of the scan fee; ask for a full breakdown and make sure you are aware of what the fee includes before you book your scan.
