Microgynon 30 ED

There is another form of Microgynon 30 called Microgynon 30 ED. These medications are essentially the same but the number of pills differs between the two. Microgynon 30 ED is an everyday pill that contains 21 active pills and 7 inactive pills so that you take a pill every day.

Microgynon 30 ED has the same amount of hormones in each of the active pills as Microgynon 30. However, there are 7 inactive pills, which do not contain any hormones. You take these pills every day so that you do not have a break unlike the 21-day version of the pill. When you take the inactive pills, you will essentially have a withdrawal bleed. This will act like your pill free week but you always take a pill. When you finish one strip, you start the next strip instantly.

This version of the contraceptive pill was designed so that you wouldn’t take a pill free break. The worst way to increase the risk of pregnancy is to forget to take the next strip on time so this method eliminates the chance of this happening. You do not need to remember to start the pill after a seven-day period because you continually take the pill so it is a good form of the contraceptive pill if you are prone to forgetting the pill. The inactive pill will not have any effect on your body.

Microgynon 30 ED is advantageous because you do not have to remember to stop and start taking the contraceptive pill. This is the only difference between the two forms of the contraceptive pill. The risks, side effects, suitability and interactions with other medications of Microgynon 30 ED are the same as Microgynon 30. 21 out of the 28 pills also contain the same ingredients as the first form of Microgynon. The larger inactive pills contain the same inactive ingredients but do not have any of the hormones within them.
