By the time you have a surgery date your surgeon should have provided you with a pack containing any information you need for the surgery including pre-operative advice and instructions. This pack should advise you against smoking and provide a list of medications which you should not take for the two weeks preceding your operation. This list will include anything containing aspirin, stimulants and seratonin supplements. By this point you should also have, or be looking into, obtaining the medication which you will require for your recovery, which should have been prescribed to you following your agreement to have the surgery.
