Herbal Remedies for Premature Ejaculation
People often worry about the chemicals they are exposing themselves to. Plants have been used to treat countless disorders and diseases for thousands of years and many of the medicines produced today contain substances originally derived from plants. There are herbal remedies available which may offer a natural alternative when treating PE.
SS herbal cream
A cream, known as SS (super secret) cream, has been developed in South Korea which consists of mostly herbal ingredients. This combination of ingredients has been shown to desensitise the penis and decrease the vibratory threshold, thus enabling longer intercourse and delayed ejaculation. Being comprised of herbal ingredients, SS cream offers a more natural alternative to other desensitising creams and may be more desirable as a product to be used during intercourse, though for the moment this cream is currently unavailable outside of Asia.
Deferol
Deferol is a dietary supplement made primarily of leaf and seed extracts. It is presented in capsule form and can be taken orally 1 to 2 hours before intercourse to improve control over ejaculation. Unlike Dapoxetine and other SSRIs, the pill is available without a prescription making it a more attractive option to those who find it more difficult to approach their health care provider about the condition. The supplement works by increasing serotonin neurotransmission to the brain while minimising neurotransmission of dopamine; the same objective as SSRIs. Although studies have shown raised dopamine levels to be involved in a heightened sense of libido, the same chemical has also been found to be responsible for promoting a premature ejaculatory response. Maintaining this serotonin-dopamine ratio in addition to reducing anxiety, allows for improved ejaculatory control. Though as with all dietary supplements there may be some mild side effects which include drowsiness. It is also important to ensure you are not also taking certain medications such as some antidepressants when using Deferol. Contact your health care provider if you are unsure.
