Sculptra is a volumising agent, which claims to stimulate natural collagen production. It consists of an injection of poly-l-lactic acid, which stimulates the body’s natural collagen production system which plumps and smoothes the skin. Treatment consists of a number of small injections just under the skin, using an ultra-fine needle. The manufacturers claim that because it stimulates collagen production within the body naturally the effect can last up to two years, meaning less repeat visits and monger lasting benefits.
