Wrinkles around the Mouth with Dentures

If you find you have fine lines around your mouth (and specifically around the corners) then you will find that your denture has shifted position and is no longer providing support for your lips. This can happen as a result of aging - i.e. shrinking bone and loss of elasticity in the skin. Your dentist can help to rectify this issue. It has been argued that removing the original teeth will result in faster facial aging because the bone that held the original teeth in will begin reducing and will therefore provide less support for the skin on your face. For a lot of people who were without a lot of teeth before dentures were inserted, however, dentures can provide more facial support than was already there.
