Hair Transplant Surgeons in Germany

It takes 6 years to gain a medical degree in Germany. However, before being able to call themselves ‘Doktor’ graduates must spend 18 months working in a special post for those who have not yet registered as doctors. After this period, they are then qualified and are awarded the Approbation to signify this. In order to specialise, students must complete postgraduate study ad training which can last between 4 and 6 years.

Registering as a doctor or specialist in Germany can be quite complex. It may therefore be a good idea to research specific procedures and legislation from the Bundes’rztekammer (the German Medical Association), if you have decided to have your hair transplant surgery in Germany. For example, you should make sure that your surgeon’s specialist status has been confirmed by the local Landes’rztekammer, particularly if they are not a native resident of Germany.
